GOVERNOR GENERAL OPENS THE 8TH PLG SUMMIT IN TUVALU

The 8th Polynesia Leaders’ Group Summit was opened on Tuesday afternoon, 26 June 2016 at the Kainakai II Felakaupule. The summit was opened by Tuvalu’s Governor General, His Excellency Iakoba Italelei Taeia. The opening Ceremony began with a gospel message and then a prayer by the President of the Ekalesia Kelisiano Tuvalu, Rev Penitusi Taeia and then the Governor General delivered the opening address.

After the Governor General delivered the opening remarks, then Ms Espinosa delivered her remarks.

In the evening, there was dinner at the new extension at the government’s main office building followed by live dancing entertainment provided by two island communities, Nanumaga and Vaitupu.
